Web26 apr. 2016 · On my Huskee 35-ton (2009 build), there is only one vent on the plug. Since the top of the hydraulic reservoir is sloped, the instructions say to spin the plug into the tank, leaving the vent hole on the high side of the slope. I never noticed spillage when transporting it, but it will vent some fluid when the fluid is "hot" from use. On small engines, as fuel is removed, air must get into the tank or you will get a vacuum (which would either stop the engine, or possibly implode the tank). If it's a fairly new machine, make the dealer give you a new cap, otherwise, pick one up and replace it. Cub Cadet has a problem with their fuel caps leaking out of the vent hole. WebOptions Check the vent on your gas cap. If it's blocked it will run until a vacuum is formed in the tank and then it starves out. After sitting awhile air will seep in and equalize the pressure.
